The Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts will be demonstrating the radio arts when they activate W4CHM from the Coca Cola Cafe at the Customs House Museum for The Internation Museums Weekend/Museums on the air event on June 19 2010 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.
We will be demonstrating Voice and digital as well as perhaps CW/Morse Code.
For those interested in obtaining their Amateur Radio License C.O.R.E. will be sponsoring a testing session in the downstairs classroom of the Customs House Museum from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Test candidates will need to photo ID to the testing session. Those upgrading will need their current Amateur Radio license OR a valid CSCE from your previous test.
C.O.R.E. is looking forward to seeing those who will be testing as well as ANYONE who wants to stop by the Coca Cola Cafe and learn more about Amateur Radio.
See You There
The Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts.
N3ORX’s 6 meter presentation was well received at this month’s C.O.R.E. Meeting and in an effort to keep up the momentum and foster interest and experimentation with the 6 meter band Hank has offered to host a 6 meter net/test session on Thursday April 22 2010 at 8 PM. The net will be held on SSB on a frequency of 50.140 simplex.
This will be an opportunity for all amateurs with an interest in operating on 6 meters to test out their rigs and antennas without having to wait for a 6 meter band opening.
All amateurs are invited to check into this net.
Anyone with questions regarding this net please contact Hank Koebler (N3ORX) directly at n3orx@arrl.org.
The Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts meeting will be tonight, April 13 2010 starting at 6:30 PM at the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene. All Amateurs are invited to attend.
We will be treated to a presentation from Hank Koebler(N3ORX) on propagation and operation on 6 meters.

This month CORE is changing our meeting day from the second Thursday of the month to the second Tuesday, this will be a permanent change and our meeting this month will be on Tuesday March 9 2010.
We have a special agenda planned this month. Howard Thompson (K2LAW) and Rob Devlin (N4PJX) will be presenting to the group about the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS).
One of the most common misunderstandings about APRS is that it just transmits your location, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth. APRS is a fully featured digital mode which allows two way text messaging and transmission of data quickly and reliably.
Howard and Rob will elaborate on this at our meeting on Tuesday and all Amateurs are encouraged to attend.
Again, the meeting will be on Tuesday March 10 2010 at 6:30 pm at the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene in Clarksville. Click below for a map and directions.

We’ll see you at the meeting!
New Meeting Day and location
C.O.R.E Group members voted at their regular monthly meeting to change the day of their meeting from the 2nd Thursday of the month to the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Additionally members voted to commit to holding their meetings at the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene for at least the next 6 months. We would like to thank David Abney (KG4EUU) for arranging this and the Pastor and congregation of the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene for their hospitality.

The third thursday of the month brings the monthly Montgomery County ARES net on the 146.925 repeater at 7:00 pm. All amateurs are welcome and encouraged to participate.
