Field Day is coming and the Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts will be participating. Once again KI4BWZ will be hosting the Field Day event on his property at 5455 Marion Rd, Cunningham, TN. The operating event starts at 1:00 pm, but we’ve got campers to place, Generators to get up and running and many other tasks to accomplish so John says we can start arriving as early as 9:00 AM on Saturday.

This is just a reminder that our monthly C.O.R.E. meeting is coming up on Tuesday June 8 2010 at the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene. The meeting starts at 6:30 and topics of discussion include Field Day Prep, Museums on the Air and a demonstration of the N3FJP Field Day Log software. If you are planning on bringing out a laptop for logging on Field Day please bring it to this meeting so we can get it setup.

The Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts (CORE) Group, in conjunction with the Customs House Museum, is sponsoring an demonstration and operating event as part of International Museums on the Air from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on 19 June 2010. The stations will be operated from the Coca Cola Café. We will be demonstrating voice and digital modes on HF. We will accommodate Scouts for the Radio Merit Badge. A Volunteer Examiner session for Amateur (Ham) Radio licensing from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The testing fee is $15.00 per exam and you must have government issued picture ID. If you are upgrading, please bring a copy of your current license or any CSCE you have. If you have any questions on the VE Testing, please call Carmen, K1MED at (931) 358-4623.

The May meeting for the Clarksville Operating Radio Enthusiasts has been rescheduled. The new meeting date will be Tuesday May 18 2010 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be at the Park Lane Church of the Nazarene on Cunningham lane in room 115, directions are available on http://www.k4ore.net.
Meeting topics will include a presentation on repeater basics from Howard (K2CEM) as well as discussion and demonstration of N3FJP’s field day logging software led by Ed (KJ4IEU).
